Report to: Manager/Sr Manager, Global Statistics

Effective date: Before Mar. 31, 2012
Role Purpose:
This position will reside in the IMS China Beijing office. Provides statistical programming and analytic support for the development and maintenance of internal and external market research projects and applications development; maintains existing database system and supports changes and future enhancements.
Principal Accountabilities:
Under minimal guidance, creates and executes SAS programs within a large data warehourse for market research studies of moderate to high complexity. Provides programming and analytical support on assigned research projects and custom studies. Pulls and manipulates data to support various types of analyses, develops SAS programs to explore/analyze data characteristics, compares and validates statistical projection/analysis methodologies, as well as assists statisticians in preparing analysis plans and evaluation of program effectiveness. Requires innovative thinking on conceptual products and services, state-of-the-art statistical programming knowledge, and independent personal development in new technology. Develops and carries out test plans. Develops complex, but efficient, SAS code combining data across time, and demonstrates a familiarity with and capability of programming statistical techniques. Supports ongoing research tasks, client proposals, ad-hoc client requests, and complex data investigations.
Requirement:
-Master's degree in Statistics, Computer Sciences or related quantitative science degree, or a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related field(s)
-2~6 years experience with large databases and systems.
-Experience of programming in SAS (Base, STAT, Macros, SQL, ODS, etc.) on MVS and/or UNIX, NT and PC is required.
-Proficiency in MS-SQL 2005/2008 (alternativ Oracle or IBM DB2), and working experiences of database design, implementation and management is required.
-Enhanced practical experience in SQL Queries of DDL and DML is required.
-Working experience of Excel VBA development and basic knowledge of MS Excel macros, functions and procedures are required.
-SyncSort or internet programming of creating web pages with HTM, ASP, JS, and VBScript is a plus.
-Familiarity with implementation of statistical design and methodology is preferred.
-Must be proficient in MS office.

Role Purpose:
Under guidance, provides support in statistical programming and applying basic statistical methodologies to assigned research projects.
Principal Accountabilities:
Under supervision, provides statistical programming and methodology support in the delivery of standard and custom studies.
Conducts statistical programming, applies statistical design and methodology to meet client information needs, conducts statistical analyses to derive conclusions from the study, and delivers regular summary report.
Works as part of a team in preparing analysis plans and statistical reports and performs validation of statistical analysis.
Works on projects of limited scope within defined procedures and practices.
Requirement:
Master’s degree or equivalently, Bachelor’s degree with up to two (2) years of experience in Statistics, Mathematics, or related quantitative science field in operations research, market research, or applied statistics.
Fundamental Statistical knowledge includes regression, hypothesis testing, sampling methods, and multivariate statistics is required.
Solid logical thinking, skills in a structured programming language, and applied experience in SAS and/or other statistical programming is preferred.
Ability to perform basic analysis and information gathering to resolve problems on non-routine matters.
Excellent oral and written English communication skills (CET Level 6 or equivalent).

Role Purpose:
Independently provides a wide range of statistical, methodological and SAS programming support for new US research offerings including impact assessments, business line development and business continuity.
Principal Accountabilities:
Conducts quality control processes for onboarding new data suppliers
Tests and validates different data source scenarios and stratification/projection models for syndicated Information & Analytic offerings
Provides statistical programming support
Extracts, manipulates, analyzes and summarizes datasets from PC, mainframe, and UNIX platforms
Requirement:
Master’s degree or equivalently, Bachelor’s degree with up to two (2) years of experience in Statistics, Mathematics, or related quantitative science field in operations research, market research, or applied statistics.
Applied Statistical knowledge includes regression, sampling methods, and multivariate statistics is required, knowledge in advanced Statistical methodologies such as forecasting techniques is preferred.
Intermediate experience in SAS including macros in mainframe, PC, and UNIX environment is required, or solid skills in a structured programming language is preferred.
Experience working with very large data sets and SQL knowledge highly desirable.
Solid analytical and logical thinking, good interpersonal and communication skills in a team environment is required.
Excellent oral and written English communication skills (CET Level 6 or equivalent).
