Re: SAS Programmer的就业前景
[quote="xic":321df]I am sorry that I can only read but not able to type Chinese here. As I know, the job market for a SAS programmer is still very bright.
I have seen some discussions about SAS programmer vs. SAS analyst, the difference between the two is not clearly cut. In my opinion, they are same profession with different title.
We are still constantly recruiting qualified SAS programmers working on our projects, but the success rate is pretty low. Most of candidates from China tried to tell us about their statistical background, and how many procedures they have ever used. Definitely, a statistical background is mandatory, but quite often, they failed in basic programming skills. I would all people here know that the most difficult part, unfortunately it is also the key requirement for a good programmer, in SAS programming is not various Stat procedures or Web stuff, it is the exeperience in data manipulation. In the other words, I would like to say that 70 to 80 percent of requirements comes out from SAS/Base. It does not matter which version of SAS you are using, how many CDs are there, SAS Language and Base procedures cover most of needs from clients
If you are a good SAS progammer working in Beijing area, I am willing to hear from you.[/quote:321df]
